The drones must die

Excerpt:

"Just look what I've brought home for you, Kathe! Really, one finds everything in this Paris ! " exclaimed Koppel, pushing his companion into the room before him. " Even such things as long-lost friends ! " added the latter, bowing and smiling. Frau Kathe, who had risen from her chair, looked at the visitor doubtfully for a moment, then exclaimed in a tone of surprise: " I declare it's Dr Henneberg! Well, I am surprised! And you're very little altered! "

*' You're not altered a bit, dear lady 1 " *' Oh! so you say. But we have gone through a great deal, haven't we, Hugo? " "And I haven't been wrapped up in cotton wool all these years." " Come, tell us all about yourself. And do sit down, Doctor. How nice of you to find us out! We have so few visitors from Germany. It's such a treat for us. How did you get our address? " " Well . . . I . . " began Henneberg, hesitating slightly. *

' It was by the merest chance we ran against each other," interrupted Koppel, " Henneberg hadn't the least idea we were living here. I went into the Franco-Oriental Bank, to fetch the securities — here they are ! " and he pulled out from a bulging pocket a bulky packet wrapped in newspaper, and handed it to his wife. " I will put them away presently," said Frau Kathe, laying the packet on the table before her, and turning a smiling face to Henneberg. "

As I was leaving the place, who should I stumble against but Henneberg, coming down the stairs? I recognized him at once, though he didn't know me."
